The Hands Behind Orraman
Orraman Leather is built on craft, pride, and people.
Every piece is made by hand in Scotland by a small, dedicated team who care deeply about quality, heritage, and doing things properly.
We don’t mass produce. We make goods that last.

Chris
Founder
Chris founded Orraman Leather in 2020 with a simple goal — to create leather goods that would last a lifetime and mean something to the people who carry them.
What began as a small workshop in a cupboard has grown into a dedicated team and multiple working spaces, but the approach has never changed. From those early days working out of a cramped setup, Orraman has since expanded into a fully equipped workshop in Ardrishaig, with additional spaces now operating in Campbeltown and Callander to support the growing demand.
Chris remains hands-on in the workshop, designing and crafting many of the core products himself, particularly wallets and new pieces as they are developed. From prototyping and material selection to refining construction and finish, he is deeply involved in how every product is made.
Inspired by Scotland’s landscape, heritage, and way of life, he built Orraman to reflect those values. Each piece is made to be used, worn in, and passed down — not replaced.
Alongside the craft, Chris leads the direction of the brand — from product design and storytelling to marketing and growth — ensuring Orraman continues to evolve without losing what made it special in the first place.
He remains closely involved in every part of the process, from design to production, ensuring that everything leaving the workshop meets the standard Orraman was built on.

STEF
OPERATIONS & PRODUCTION
Stef was Chris’ first full-time hire, joining Orraman Leather in January 2025 as the business began to grow beyond a one-man workshop.
He plays a central role in keeping Orraman moving day to day. From belt production to packaging and fulfilment, he ensures that every order leaving the workshop is finished to the standard the brand was built on.
Stef runs the Campbeltown workshop, overseeing production and making sure everything operates smoothly on the ground. His presence there allows the business to scale while maintaining the same level of care and attention that defined Orraman from the beginning.
Working closely alongside Chris, Stef has helped shape the systems and processes that allow Orraman to grow without losing its roots. His focus is on consistency, efficiency, and making sure that quality never slips, no matter the volume.
Many of the improvements behind the scenes — from streamlining belt production to refining how orders are packed and dispatched — come from Stef’s hands-on approach to the work.
While Chris focuses on design and product development, Stef ensures everything runs as it should, keeping the workshop organised, productive, and delivering on time.
Every product that leaves Orraman Leather passes through his hands in some way, making him a key part of maintaining the level of craftsmanship customers expect.

MIKE
CUSTOMER CARE & OPERATIONS
Mike is Chris’ older brother and plays a key role in the day-to-day running of Orraman Leather, working remotely from Finland to support the business behind the scenes.
He looks after customer care, handling emails, queries, and any issues that come through with a calm, straightforward approach. Whether it’s helping someone choose the right product or resolving a problem quickly, Mike ensures every customer is looked after properly.
Beyond customer support, Mike manages communication across the team, making sure important information reaches the right people at the right time. Feedback, issues, and customer insights are passed directly to the workshop, helping improve both products and processes.
He also works closely with the company’s accountants, handling bookkeeping and the financial admin that keeps everything in order. Much of the less visible side of the business — the organisation, tracking, and coordination that keeps things running — sits with Mike.
As a family-run business, trust and communication matter, and Mike is often the direct link between the workshop and the customer. For many, he is the voice of Orraman — the person they hear from, rely on, and trust when they need help.

JOHN
PRODUCTION & PHOTOGRAPHY
John is Chris’ younger brother and works alongside Kate in the Callander workshop, focusing primarily on wallet production and fine leather goods — part of the family-driven foundation that sits behind Orraman Leather.
He has a natural ability for the craft, with a level of precision and consistency that allows him to take a design and produce it to Orraman’s standard without compromise. His eye for detail and steady approach to the work make him a key part of maintaining the quality the brand is known for.
Much of the wallet production that leaves the workshop passes through John’s hands, where attention to detail is critical. From clean stitching to finishing, his work reflects the same care and standard set from the very beginning.
Working closely with Chris, John plays an important role in ensuring that new designs can be produced consistently at scale, without losing the character and quality of a handmade product. He is also responsible for much of the photography across the brand, capturing the products and workshop in a way that reflects Orraman as it truly is.
Alongside his work in leathercraft, John is also a composer, balancing two demanding disciplines with the same level of focus and dedication — a reflection of the work ethic he brings to everything he does.
Based in Callander, he is part of the second workshop that supports Orraman’s growth, helping expand production while keeping the craft at the centre of everything.

KATE
WORKSHOP OPERATIONS
Kate works alongside John in the Callander workshop and is deeply involved in the day-to-day running of Orraman Leather. Her role spans across production, organisation, and the general flow of the workshop, ensuring everything continues to move as it should.
She is hands-on across all areas of the business — from making products to supporting packing, preparation, and whatever else is needed on any given day. A natural grafter, Kate gets stuck in wherever the work is, taking on whatever needs done without hesitation.
Working closely with both John and Chris, she helps maintain the standard Orraman was built on, making sure that as the business grows, the quality and care behind each product never slips.
As Chris’ mum, she is a key part of what keeps Orraman grounded as a family business. That sense of pride, resilience, and doing things properly runs through everything she does, both in the workshop and behind the scenes.
Her contribution touches almost every part of the business — not always visible, but essential to how everything operates and how every product comes together.
