Sizing Guide

What Is a Lug — and How to Measure Yours

Choosing the right strap starts with one number: your lug width. Get it right and your new strap will fit your watch like it was made for it.

Lug Width Lug

The gap between the lugs = your strap size

Three ways to measure

  1. 1

    Check the spec sheet

Search your watch model + 'lug width'. The manufacturer almost always lists it in millimetres.

  2. 2

    Measure with a ruler

Flip the watch face-down. Measure the inside distance between the two lugs (where the spring bar sits) in millimetres. Round to the nearest even number.

  3. 3

    Measure your old strap

If you have an existing strap, measure its width at the end that meets the case. That's your lug width.

Common sizes

18mm — smaller dress watches · 20mm — most men's watches (Submariner, Speedmaster) · 22mm — larger sport & tool watches
